Metal Divider is an inquiry-based B2B site: no accounts, no checkout, no payment. This page explains what personal data the inquiry chain touches and what we do with it — nothing more.
1. Who we are and what this page covers
Metal Divider (info@metal-divider.com) operates metal-divider.com, an inquiry-based B2B site for architectural metal screen patterns. We offer no accounts, no checkout, and no payment. The only personal data we process is what the inquiry chain needs: the inquiry form, the messages you send us, and the technical records a hosted website keeps.
2. What we collect
- Inquiry form — name, email, company (optional), your message, and any pattern-list entries attached at submit.
- Pattern list — the list you build while browsing stays in your browser's local storage; it never leaves your device except when the form submits it as part of your inquiry.
- Server logs — standard hosting records (IP address, timestamps, requested pages) kept for security and operation.
- Consent records — if the cookie banner asks for a choice, the record of that choice.
- WhatsApp — a conversation you start on WhatsApp happens on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp's own policies.
3. Why we process it, and the legal basis
We process inquiry data to answer your inquiry and prepare quotes — steps preceding a possible contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Server logs run on our legitimate interest in operating a secure site (Art. 6(1)(f)). Where a choice is genuinely yours (non-essential cookies), we ask for consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Equivalent bases apply in the other jurisdictions listed in section 8.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell data and run no tracking pixels. Three processors see what they need to keep the site working: our hosting provider (Hostinger), our CDN/WAF (Cloudflare), and the mail infrastructure that delivers inquiry notifications. Nothing else is shared with anyone.
6. Retention
Inquiry records are kept for 5 years — the tracking cycle of a B2B project — then deleted or anonymized. Server logs rotate on the host's standard schedule. The pattern list in your browser stays until you clear it.
7. Cross-border transfers
This site is hosted in a data center in Frankfurt, Germany, inside the EEA. Where a processor we rely on operates outside the EEA, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, supplemented where processors hold equivalent certifications.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you are, you can access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and complain to your supervisory authority:

9. Children, security, changes, contact
The site addresses professional adults; it is not directed at children. Data moves over TLS and is stored on processors' hardened infrastructure; access to inquiry records is limited to the team answering them. When this policy changes, the change appears on this page.
